Ever woken up after a crazy night out in an unknown place, hungover and unable to remember what you got up to? That is exactly what has happened to the heroes of our improvised Hangover! Just like the movie of the same name, a group of friends will wake up in an unknown location, without being able to remember what happened last night, but with clues on and around them. Through a series of flashbacks and returns to the present, we will follow their drunken adventures until they ultimately figure out what they got up to last night.

Academy courses are performance modules in which we focus on teaching and coaching the most dedicated improvisers to perform our formats to the standard that we hold our professional productions at!

In order to take this module, please send an application to info@improbubble.com outlining your impro experience and your availability to audition.

What you’ll experience

  • A professional approach to working on and rehearsing for a format

  • Personal feedback

  • The nuts and bolts of putting a show together from every aspect (including production)

  • How to work well with a group of improvisers when you are not a troupe

  • Work on the specific improv skills, needed for the format (justification, specificity, narrative, reincorporation)

Who this is for

This is one of our Academy classes. These courses are intended for ambitious and advanced improvisers who already have at 3 + years of impro experience (including performance experience), who want to level up and work at a professional or semi-professional level.

There will be an audition and application process to select the participants for this course. Successful applicants will also be considered for future ImproBubble productions with our professional troupes.

Feedback will be an essential component of this course, as will a personal commitment from each individual to attend a production training as well as to take personal responsibility in the promotion of this show. The participants’ presence at each class is a requirement; if there are absences, it will be up to the discretion of the director whether they get to perform.

About the teacher

Kelly Agathos

Kelly is the Artistic and Managing Director of ImproBubble. She discovered improvisational theatre in 2010 and instantly fell in love with it. After spending several years travelling the globe to work and perform with world-renowned improvisers, Kelly created ImproBubble, through which talented teachers and performers share their vision of improv with a rapidly growing community.

Kelly is also the producer of all anglophone shows scheduled at l’Improviste, as well as the co-creator and host of The Schuman Show, a comedy news show that satirizes EU decision makers with absurd theatrical sketches and improvised scenes, witty monologues and catchy songs.

Kelly is a proud cat mom, so if you ask about her tuxedo cat Marcello, be prepared to scroll through pics of him looking ridiculously adorable.
