Level I: Introduction to Improvisation
ImproBubble invites you to discover the wonderful world of improv in this tailor-made Beginners’ course! Spaced over 8 weeks, these 8 classes will focus on the basic principles of improvisation. We will work on failing good naturedly, the benefits of saying ‘yes, and’ letting our partners shine, listening with intent and trust and connection.
Level II: Principles of improv
In Level I, we learned the key principles behind the art of improvisation. Level II is all about adding and expanding your improv skills. Classes will include work on characters & physicality, emotions, playing with space, object and activity work, discovering patterns and the ‘game’ of the scene.
We will also work on creating good platform beginnings (the who/what/where), in order to make our scene work more solid.
Level V: Introduction to Longform Narrative Improvisation
Introduction to Longform Narrative Improvisation: At this point in our improv journey, we can create solid scene work and interesting characters, and we know when a good time to edit is. But how can we tell a story with a clear beginning, middle and ending, that will be exciting for the audience to watch, and for us to play in? The final level in ImproBubble’s curriculum will delve into the essential elements of narrative longform improvisation
I started taking improv classes at ImproBubble because I wanted to improve my story-telling skills whilst running a role-playing game for friends. Kelly and Ben have provided me with a versatile and diverse toolbelt of improv techniques that have made my games more lively, dynamic and player driven. I now look forward to next occasion my players throw our game entirely off course!
